Why We Started Wear II Care

We are living in unprecedented times, with a long road ahead of us. The pandemic is not going away anytime soon, and if we want to overcome it sooner rather than later, he scientific consensus is clear: wearing masks in public is an absolute must.

While we’re no longer able to see the smiles of people passing us on the street, we can think of the masks that cover those smiles as a powerful symbol of that very same human connection.

It’s simple: when we wear a mask, we’re showing we care about each other. We’re showing we still have faith in the most fundamental tenet of humanity’s social contract: treat other people as you yourself want to be treated.

At Wear II Care, we tell the stories of people for whom wearing a mask is a deeply personal, steadfast commitment to keeping their loved ones safe.

We tell the stories of people for whom wearing a mask means showing solidarity with vulnerable groups such as the elderly, the chronically ill, and the immunocompromised.

We tell the stories of people for whom wearing a mask is the way they show gratitude for the frontline healthcare workers putting themselves at risk so that if we do contract the virus, they’re there to help us.

Much of it is preventable. So let’s do our part to keep ourselves and each other safe. We’re all in this together, and we’re at our strongest when we’re unified. Let’s uplift our shared humanity, take care of each other, and mask up to bring the virus down.
